Service Log

 

This log documents all work done to the car, specifically dealing with dealership service intervals and alignment services. I have also included any items that for one reason or the other needed to be replaced or repaired.

 

Car purchased on 12/24/98 with approximately 50 miles on the odometer.

 

5K Service: April 10, 1999

Change oil and filter

Lube all locks and hinges

Inspect auto shift lock

Neutral switch

Check suspension and steering

Check exhaust.

 

10K Service: August 16, 1999

Begin using Mobil 1 synthetic

Driver's side corner lamp replaced due to stress cracks

Sunroof switch ordered. Roof occasionally tilts when turned to the close position.

Seat knob ordered for passenger side seat. Know keeps falling off.

Floor mat tabs ordered. Never replaced!

Auto door lock activated

Mintex Red Box pads installed by VW Sport

 

November 1, 1999: Alignment

Performed by CDE Motorsports, Fairfax Virginia

 

15K Service: Nov. 9, 1999

Same as 5k

 

20K Service: Jan. 25, 2000

Tie-Rod ends are split

Upper & Lower Control Arm Bushings are worn.

Dealer refuses to do work citing Neuspeed Springs

 

Feb. 7, 2000

Suspension returned to stock

Other local dealership replaces Tie-Rods under warranty

Alignment Performed

Dealership says Upper & Lower Control Arm Bushings are fine.

 

 

 

First complained of front-end noise at 10k service. Told it was due to tire pressure being set at 35psi. Complained again of front-end noise at 15k service. Told it was tire noise. Complained again at 20k service of front-end noise. Tie-Rod problem is found, but dealership refuses to honor warranty.

Note that17" Wheels and Suspension were not added until after 10k service! 5-10-15-20K services performed by Martens Volvo-VW, Washington DC.
